About me¶
I am from the United States, currently living in a town outside of Boston, Massachusetts. My educational background is in the fine arts, earning a BFA in graphic design from Boston University, and my approach to work remains rooted in creativity and precision with an eye toward usability.
I later earned an MEd in elementary education from Lesley University and started my teaching career at a Reggio-Emilia-inspired institution, The Advent School. There, I developed a passion for project-based learning, making scale-model Greek and Mayan city-states, filming a movie inspired by The Graveyard Book and Egyptian Mythology, and turning the classroom into a miniature civilization.
Previous work¶
For many years, I taught at The Advent School’s Dream, Design Discover summer engineering program. Students learned to use the design process through various themes, such as toy-making, upcycling, and using simple machines. Simple machines was one of the more memorable programs culiminating in a Rube Goldberg machine, seen in the video below.
