Process

  • brainstorm ideas of how vinyl cutting can be used to make manipulatives for teaching and learning
  • thought of using it to cut jigsaw puzzles, with game pieces to learn about cooperation and teamwork

  • but cardboard/ paper can be used, not necessary to use vinyl cutting

  • cutting can be faster and more accurate than manual cutting

Reflection

  • manipulatives can help to engage the students, by injecting hands on activities
  • students can reuse the manipulatives for revision
  • find more lesson ideas that involves cutting, especially curve lines (e.g. model building)
  • creating new templates or search for existing ones to modify
