Week 6¶
Assignments¶
Task 1
- This week I created a 3D object using the Boxes.py platform. The object is a hybrid box that features joint and flexible structure technologies.
First, I got a ready-made file from the website. I set the required parameters (number of sides, material thickness, etc.) and then downloaded the file and used it for laser cutting.
Finally, I joined all the parts together. By the way, I only needed glue for the lid.the rest of the pieces fit together perfectly.

Task 2
This week I also created a 3D object on the TinkerCad platform: a Christmas tree. For this, I created pyramids, stacked them on top of each other, changed the color, and so on. This way, I learned the functions that can be performed on the object.

Reflection¶
1.How can your press-fit / 3D object be used in education? How could other teachers use it? How could you integrate it into an activity that aligns with your curriculum or standards?
- A fabricated 3D object can be used in solid geometry lessons. This will help students better visualize shapes in space. It will also have a positive impact on the development of spatial thinking and engineering skills.
2.Have you ever built an education portfolio? Why or why not? What could be the possible advantages?
- I’ve never had to create an academic portfolio. This is because I don’t teach a specific subject, but rather work as a classroom teacher or tutor. But I think it would be a good idea to collect all my work and academic results in one place, as we currently do at Fab Lab. This will help to generate new ideas and projects more actively in the future and to organize current works. Acquiring new skills while building a portfolio is also an important factor for growth.
3.When you execute a learning activity, how do you evaluate its success? How do you keep track of possible modifications or improvements? Do you include them in your education portfolio or learning diary
- When I sense that students are interested and eager to learn more. When they begin to take responsibility for completing simple steps, try things independently, and aren’t afraid to make mistakes.
