About me¶

Hello everyone, I’m Beatriz Torres, more known as “Miss Bea”. I’m based in Guatemala City, currently working as an Art teacher for American School of Guatemala. -CAG- Excited to discover this new world of possibilities through Fablab.
My background¶
I was born in the beautiful city of Guatemala, a place that continues to inspire my creativity and passion for the arts. I originally trained as a music teacher, but my professional path led me to discover the endless possibilities of visual expression. Over the past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of working as both an English and Visual Arts teacher, guiding students to explore their own voices through creativity. As an educator, I’m fascinated by the power of creation, how art connects ideas, emotions, and innovation. I’m especially drawn to the art world and what technology can offer to this subject. I currently teach Middle School Visual Arts to students between the ages of 12 and 14. Most of my students are Guatemalan, though I also work with learners from diverse international backgrounds. Although I have no professional experience in digital fabrication, I’m eager to learn and develop new skills in this area, especially those that can enhance creativity and communication in the arts.
