Some ideas to explore…

I’m excited to explore how Fab Labs can expand creativity and innovation in the visual arts classroom. I want to solve some problems that I’ve found regarding tools that I use for my art lessons, I’d like to create tools that help in the process of making art and I also want my students to design and build projects that bridge the digital and physical worlds. For example, design kinetic pieces that move using basic mechanisms but including a design based on their creative thinking and building it through their motor skills using materials like cardboard or paper. I think these experiences will not only enhance students’ artistic and manipulative skills but also encourage experimentation, collaboration and learning through trial and error, since I’m learning how to use these tools too, it will be a funny process that will teach us new skills and test our patience too.
